Invest In Yourself

Hey Guys! I hope everyone is doing well! I wanted to share with you guys what I have been up to lately. Recently I have been on a mission to focus on my blog and start investing more time and energy on anything that can better me or my brand. I have been trying to attend events with likeminded bloggers and influencers.

A couple weeks ago I went to  this free event about branding and how to monetize your brand. When I tell you guys the level of anxiety I had sitting in that event was unreal, I thought I was going to cry in the middle of the room. And because the event was free there were tons of people and it was very overwhelming for me. I felt that a lot of the people were pretending to be more important that they really were aka fake. Sorry, not sorry. And then the other half of the people were in their phones. I attended the event alone and did not find that people were approachable or willing to look up from their phones to meet others that they did not come with.

Listen, I am far from an introvert (although I love my alone time), but I definitly felt like an introvert that day. I just did not like the vibe of the room. When it was over I made a dash for the exit and it felt like I was holding my breath in the room and when I got outside I could finally breathe again.

Conversely, last weekend I went to a masterclass called blogSpace that was conducted by Mattie James from Mattieology.com. Mattie is an amazing influencer that is damn good at her job. She has helped me get my blog life together before I even attended the class.

Well like any other masterclass or or seminar, it can be pricey (to some). Nonetheless, I decided I didn’t care how much it cost, I was going to include it in my budegt and attend. I am so happy I attended. I learned a lot from Mattie and I met some really great women and fellow bloggers. There was no anxiety because it was a smaller group and it was easier for everyone to take in the information being given.

The reason why I decided to write this blog tonight was because I felt I needed to give you guys this message:

Invest in yourself and then invest in your dreams.

When I initially thought about spending the money to go to the class some people thought I was crazy and thought it would be a waste of my money. I am glad that I did not listen to those people. I think it is very important to invest in yourself and stand definitely on your goals. Do what you need to do to get them done. Make the sacrifices that you need to make. Put in the work that you need to put it in and do not let ANYONE deter you from doing whatever it takes to make your dreams a reality.

Bella and Mattie

Invest in yourself so that you can fund your dreams. A better you equals a better outcome!

-Ciao, Bella

  1. I can agree with this. And one thing I’ve learned is that if you don’t invest in yourself or feel that you should invest in yourself, what would make other people want to?

I’m glad you decided to go with what you felt would be right for you. So kudos to you. And I’m glad you were able to get something out of it. And if you were able to learn something from the experience, it was definitely worth the money.

  2. This is a really great post! I am working on improving my blog as I reach my one year anniversary. Boy, have I learned a lot! You definitely have to invest time into yourself and your work. Can’t wait to attend some of these blogging events. I am sorry about your experience. I know that had to be extremely uncomfortable, “introvertly” speaking lol. I prefer small crowds. I am glad you enjoyed the second event. I follow Mattie on twitter but now I am inspired to really look into her work.

    Let’s stay connected!
